I feel that way too. I try reading something inspiring or seeing a really good movie. Somthing that makes me say, I want to write like that. Or I want my story to be like that movie. It gets the urge to write going again.

Of course, all the time! I have four unfinished novels right now - one I've been working on for about six years and I'm only up to chapter seven! (Which remeingds me I want to have chapter six of my other book done by Friday, so I'd better get off the internet soon!) Anyways I don't really have such great ideas to help you if you get stuck like this, usually I refuse to write anything for about a week or so (the last few days are especially brutal!) and then when I get back to my computer my head is so full of ideas I just HAVE to write them down! I love those days!

It is all a matter of discipline and training. I write every day. Same hours, same length of time, same place. Those are my "office hours". If you take yourself seriously, you will learn to write like this. It is the way to success. If you have focus issues, work from an outline. Set yourself goals. That is the way all authors from Hemingway to Nelson De Mille do it. Hemingway had a small house in the back of his Key West estate where he had his manservant lock him in for a certain many hours a day. Nelson De Mille writes in longhand for a certain length of time per day. You have to get used to the idea of treating writing like any other job. I have long ago learned to discipline myself. In fact, if a day goes by where there is a family gathering or a party or something and I don't write, I just feel so guilty about it. Start with a short length of time. Gradually lengthen it. Select ONE of your open works and focus on it. Keep at it until it is done. The rest will wait.

I feel like that sometimes too, except it doesn't happen near the end, it happens in the middle or even in the beginning. It's very annoying, because you know that you should go on, but you just don't feel like it. I suggest taking a break from the novel/story for a long time, and hopefully you'll end up missing it.
Hope this helps!

I feel like this sometimes too. It's either because I don't want the process to end, I get a little bored, or I just get lazy. But then I give myself a good kick to finish it.lol

I totally feel the same way. I start out so into it and hardworking, then I don't finish. Apparently we get adrenaline from starting a project which wears off before we finish, so we lose interest.
Good luck, though!

I'm a perfectionist, I'll start writing something and then when I reread it I get disappointed and start over. That's why I've never accomplished anything:(

it happens but over time and practice you'll get use to it.
Tip: Plan your story before you write it
