1. It's years since I read the poem but I know that victims died in great pain with a red rash all over the body.
2.Prospero's plan was to shut himself and his friends up in the castle, allowing no-one in until the disease had passed.
3. The clock and its chimes signify the passing of time and the fact that you can't stop time, just as th Red Death could not be stopped. Hope this helps.
