Ok, I'm the only female in car dealership, my bosses are male, my co workers are male, everything is male dominated, I have a few female business questions I'd like to put to my bosses but it's embarrassing can you help me with these?

There are no womens sanitary facilities in the ladies loos how can I approach my boss and purhaps ask for the installation of a pad bin, I don't use tampons as they irritate me.

also I've been thinking of asking for a pad/tampon dispenser, cause if I was to leave any ladies employed after me would have the same problem you know? it's just a convinience thing you know?

it was bad enough once I had to ask one of my co workers to take me home and get a pad cause I was caught short... I keep a pad or two just in case in my office draw now.

Anybody else been in this or another similar situation that can help, questions and suggestions at the dealership are verbal, there is no suggestion box.

I don't have a problem with not having pads, just I haven't got anywhere to dispose of the ones I've used that's the question, I've been putting them in a plastic bag and taking them home each day in my handbag which if the facilities were provided I wouldn't need to do that

Just go up to your boss and ask for a sanitaryn bin. As far as I am aware it's mandatory. Where I work every women's toilet has one and even the public toilets in the park close to where I live has them. Have they had a female employee before?? If not they probably never even thought about it. Take a chance just go ahead and ask.

Start by suggesting to your boss that the ladies bathroom needs some 'home improvements'. If he inquires as to what type of changes, you could start with a fresh coat of paint or maybe putting a small cupboard in over the sink...that way you will have a place to store your supplies. Or you could ask to have a small locker installed in your office area and that way you would always have your supplies handy.

As far as the pad bin, I would go out and purchase a bin and then submit the bill to your boss and just tell him it was for the ladies room and leave it at that.

First, is there a restroom for the public? If not then yes ask cause the women who come there to look at cars need a dispenser. Tell your boss that there should be a tampon/pad disp. in the restroom, to make the customers happy.
Customers come first.

Good luck though, cause very few employers will pay for those.

If there are other women co-workers and it sounds like there are some, maybe write a note with your request and slip it under the boss' door. Sign it female employees. If all else fails, just keep an extra stock in your drawer.

where i work we have the same situation.4 crews of 5 men 1 female 1 bathroom.Me being male I have never given it thought that there is no dispenser in bathroom.Know the clerk always brings her personal items and stores them in her locker.I want to say its just adapting to a universal bathroom. Most men understand a woman's special needs and don't give it second thought. What the heck ask him lol won't hurt. PS-for humor yes we catch heck for leaving toilet set up !

You could ask, but if it was me, I would just store a whole box of them in my desk drawer...Just in case you need one in a pinch! Also, I'm sure there has to be a law somewhere that states they must supply adequate facilities for females. ;)
