Ever stay up to see his adult variety show the night before, so that you knew what the inside joke was the next day during the kids' show when Soupy and the crew would break up but the kids watching would be clueless about what the joke was?

Remember Soupy's mantra for taking vitamins? "Through the teeth and over the gums: Look out, stomach, here it comes!"

What were his "guests" called? White Fang, for instance. What imitations did he do with sugar cookies?

We used to race home from school to watch Soupy Sales! It was so corny with those pitiful "dogs" (sock puppets) White Fang and Black Tooth. Pookie would come to talk to him at the window, and Soupy's girlfriend Peaches would talk to him at the door. All you ever saw was "her" big hairy muscular arm -- obviously a man's. A guy named Lenny did all the arm and puppet work, Oh, and Reba who was in the pot-bellied stove. What a wacky show!

Do you remember when he told kids to go into their parents' wallets, put some money in an envelope and send it to him? They did, and he was off the air for awhile.

I saw Soupy Sales show. Love the guy's humor and his hit record Do The Mouse. Remember Pookie? Soupy was always getting a pie thrown in his face.

Eating lunch with Soupy Sales (lived in Lincoln Park) was the only way I'd eat certain things that would normally not pass my lips. I was in first grade at the time.

Me! Me! Me! I was in LOVE with him. And Mr. Moose from Captain Kangaroo. All I really remember is it was "snowy" because we had rabbit ears. We lived in Jackson and didn't get that channel very well.
