I´ve read authors that claim to have taken some of jung´s ideas
such as an influence from oriental spiritual practices, etc...
I´m looking for some traditional or alternative form of therapy that helps me work with my emotions as a way to better self knowledge and personal development

You are going to be looking for a long time. It is all a state of mind.
If any of the mumbo jumbo worked, their would be no problems in the world.

I was in the mental health field--and found Jung TERRIFIC! Very intraspective with archetypes etc., which all makes sense to me. The thing that I incorporated was a statement he wrote re diagramming!! I LOVE Piaget, and since I worked with adolescents, particularly troubled adolescent guys--14-19, I found that they have trouble verballizing much. I dropped down to Piaget's Pre-Concret Cognitive Stage of diagramming and they took to it like ducks to water and really started making progress!!! Jung wrote that diagramming prevents the emotional content that verbal communication contains--allowing them to THINK about the behavior first. Later when they got comfortable diagramming their feelings and communication, they were able to dicuss verbally, their feelings--then Piaget's Formal Concrete Level--taking their feelings back to their Family of Origin to see WHY they, as toddlers, had to find COVERT ways of getting their emotionsl NEEDS MET!!
