gimme your justifications, and I'll shoot 'em down.

Unless, of course, one of you gets it right. And tunafish fly out of Bush's nose.

1. We went there to enforce the cease fire after the Gulf War. Saddam agreed to allow the UN unfettered access to his facilities. Bush Sr should have finished the job the first time and taken Saddam out.

2. Saddam refused to keep this deal and we had the right to void the cease fire and take him out.

3. After 9-11, we could not take the chance that he would develop a nuke. He went around threatening the western world.

4. We have to stay now because we broke it and we are responsible for fixing it.

as a 3 time veteran of the war i want to say first that the war is not for oil, if it is why the hell are we paying 3 dollars a gallon for gas. On top of that there are over 100 oil fields in Iraq. Anyone know how many are operational? One. and why? because the government refuses to guard them. now don't ya think if it was a war for oil we would have our guys guarding the oil fields and not pulling the guys who are killing innocent people off the streets? of course not . You guys haven't spent a day in country and ya believe everything you see on TV too. Come on guys use logic. We are in this for all the reasons that chainsaw said plus we have responsibility. We went in to get Saddam and when we did we saw how screwed up that country was. How would you like to not be able to have the Internet or cable. How about i take away your running water. How about the government raping your wife and killing your kids to test chemical weapons. That crap really went down and it was wrong and needed to be stopped. And if we leave now someone just like Saddam will take over and all our American brothers and sisters that have died will have died in vain. Now if you think that's not your problem that's your purgative. now think of how you would like to have been in an Iraqi's place before we liberated

Yes, to cover up the mistake made by the unqualified, draft-dodging coward that got us in Iraq. He thought it would be an easy operation-he was wrong. But rather than admit that, he'll hide behind bogus "justifications" for our invasion.

I think the current reason is to protect the American companies that are doing construction, making investments, working with oil, and private security. NOT that I agree with it, but that's one reason we haven't left yet.
