environment? I very much love the wild, and would consider it a dream job if I could go and do something like report on something in the Amazon, Sahara, Alaska, or something like that. Are there departments for those kinds of jobs?

Yes! In fact, at a lot of J-schools, you can major in environmental journalism-- two schools that I considered for grad school offered programs tailored for aspiring journalists who want to report on the environment. They were Newhouse, which is a subset of Syracuse University, and Northwestern University in Chicago. I'll bet your state university also offers a program like this. I know the University of Minnesota does.

Good for you for being interested in it! It's an important field.

There are "Travel Journalists" or you could go into "wildlife documentary making" which would encompass covering what you want.
