I get angry and annoyed so easily. When I am talking to my friends or when my parents ask me a very stupid question, I get very impatient and mad. My tone changes to very mean and awful. I just cannot stand it. I feel I get it from my mom. She is impatient and I think it rubbed off on me. I feel so mad at myself for being like this and I want to know how to control it. How do you normally control yourself?

It probably is a family trait. If so you will need to first recoginize it - which you have & now take steps to learn some skills to cope with it. When you feel yourself being impatient try a deep breath & then react in the opposite of how you want to. example; if you want to freak out at them -deep breath - & calmly respond in kind. If you do that a few times succesfully you will have 1 new skill at coping. That has always helped me.

I got to the base of mine--of course, it was much later than you!! You've identified the source of yours--perhaps from a sense of "control" from your mom. But of course, it took me until my middle 30's to get at the root of mine. Usually, I think, it comes from the early childhood training that took place--I used to get locked in the bathroom as a toddler when I was "noisey" and disruptive. I went through years of therapy to work this out. But this takes time and money....for a teenager--which it sounds as if you are and are living with your parents. I don't have any answer--but try NOT to let it out in destructive avenues that harm yourself or others. Try a school counselor and see if she'd recommend to your parents for regular therapy!!! It's well worth it!! Through therapy, you can learn how to deal with your mother--WITHOUT becoming just like her!!! Good Luck and believe in yourself!!!

I burn things and scream to my pillow. Then cry myself to sleep. Then play video-games and watch 300.
Then contemplate my life and when I'm done I know myself even better than I did yesterday.
