Clinton Portis he never gets any respect his o line doesnt block well for him so he gets all of his yards basically on his own plus he is the best pass blocking Rb in the league he picks up blitzes like no other and he gets no pub. Also Willis McGahee didnt even make the po Bowl and he sin the top 5 in rushing how is that possible? LT is overrated hes not that good? didnt he have like 30 tds last year? what happened this year? he didnt even have a 100 yeard game until like week 6 wtf

Right now, LT. Still churning up yardage, and moving closer and closer to more records. Near future Adrian Peterson, plays behind a great o-line as shown by Chester Taylor when AP was out for a couple weeks. 3rd best back and most underrated is without a doubt Brian Westbrook. He will lead the league in all-purpose yards, is the best receiving back in the NFL. He is what Reggie Bush was suppose to be.

LADANIAN he is the hardest working man in the nfl today hes fast hes quick and hes smart he gets outs of bounds when he needs to and most running backs cant do that although westbrook would be second hes smarter than ladanian and alot of people not only underestimate brian westbrook but the underestimate Philly as a team

Peterson as a pure running back
but I like Tomlinson as the most versatile both running and especially out of the back field.

Vikings Vs. Chargers (Week 9)

Score 35-17 Vikes

LT: 16 rushes 40 yds. TD
AP: 30 rushes 296 yds. 3 TD.

Both are extremely talented, AP played better in the first half of the season, but LT is playing better in the second half. I'd give it to AP though. Teams piss their pants when he's running at them.

Ladanian Tomlinson

The best is Tomlinson, Teams gameplan against him and he still gets off. Petersen will be very good but he will have to play a few more years without getting injured to be considered one of the best. There are some great backs out there but ultimately it's L.T.

There is no "best" running back. They work with the guys who call the plays at just the right moment and coordination with a particular line is crucial. Without the right setup, not one running back would succeed.

Some have a big fullback type setup, others rely on redhot fast break backs like this new guy, Adrian Peters. Tiki Barber was just what the Giants needed to fit in. On any given Sunday it could change with the situation. You can only compare overall averages and championships. So many fantastic running back have played and their teams never won one superbowl. You can name 10 or 20 can't you?
