I love all the party food you get at this time of year - mini spring rolls, samosas, sausages etc. It also seems to be the season of the cheeslet and nut :).
Always have mincepies and christmas cake - my Dad makes christmas puddings and dundee cakes for almost everyone we know.
Just spotted the post above - pigs in blankets are a must with any roast they are the best part.

Champagne and strawbs for breakfast in bed. For dinner, salmon souffle, homemade soup, or melon boat ( I know) for starters, followed by a choice of meats, beef, pork and lamb, with potato dauphinoise, roast potatoes, shredded cabbage tossed in garlic butter, a carrot and swede julienne, a yorkshire pudding, stuffing or rosemary infused gravy depending on choice of meat. For dessert, trad Christmas pud with a brandy sauce, fresh fruit salad with creme freche, or a delectable cheeseboard and assorted crackers.

lots of folk have goose, duck, hams, some have lamb roasts, mostly all have roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, parsnips, carrots bread sauce, and gravy but a lot of us don't get into it and just have haggis and neep{swedes]for dessert some folk have christmas pudding, burning with brandy, or trifle, or hot mince pies and brandy butter, lots of traditional food is not eaten now, and a lot of food is bought from Iceland [foods ] so women do not work so hard, i.e. they get a break too but lots of rituals and traditions are lost, ie making the xm\s cake and pudding weeks beforhand etc,...the smells. anticipation ..
