You should read what to expect when your expecting. I'm pretty sure there's an answer to this question in there. Good Luck!

This isn't an exact science, even though the docs act as though it is. 40 weeks is the average, some babies come at 38 weeks and some at 42 weeks.
The baby has to move down into the birth canal. Again, there is no rule on how long it takes, Some do it very quickly, some can do it over the course of a few days.
Relax, keep drinking your water and do a little light exercise. It sounds like you have good care, I'm sure you will do well.

Best wishes!

Your baby just isn't ready to pop out yet, he will drop very soon I should think and labour varies from woman to woman, baby to baby so it could be lengthy or quick. Normally, if you are ready and the baby isn't showing signs of popping out, they will enduce you - you get an injection or jelly on your whatsit. I got that for my first time and labour took all day but I just stayed in bed and read (as much as I could because I was excited). Remember that the dates may well be a little off by two weeks here or there so the 40weeks thing is a guide only. You may well have a wait yet. Good luck.

Your baby can still come any time. Try to relax, maybe stress is preventing you from beginning. Walk, relax, and rest because after baby boy gets here you will get little of both. Good Luck and maybe you will have a Christmas Baby and you can call him Nicholas. Best Wishes and God Bless.

you never know, labor could begin straight after the baby drops, which could be anytime. are you booked for induction? the best thing to do is be patient and walk lots. good luck, i hope it happens naturally. x
