No go get Pedialite or Liquidlite. Stay away from the ones with dye in it like red because you need to be able to see if he is throwing things up or not. Give him two ounces every other feeding. You don't want to give him water because water doesn't have an nutrients. This will help him stay hydrated. Try feeding him like maybe a half an ounce and then burp him or talk to him then try to give him some more a few minutes later. Now he might get mad because he is hungry, but he will have a much better chance at keeping it down.

It would be better to give an electrolyte solution to your son rather than water. Regular tap water is a poor source of electrolytes and it would be really easy for an infant to receive too much water and suffer water intoxication (remember the case with a radio station holding a water drinking contest and the runner-up died of water intoxication?).
Just talk to your son's pediatrician and get his/her advice. If he's feeling ill, Pedialyte or a similar product may be a better choice.

The problem with Pedilyte etc, is that he will no doubt throw that up as well. He is so little, babies can dehydrate in no time, he might need to be admitted and put on an IV until he can keep food down.
Take him to your pediatrician or the E.R. for him to be evaluated. This is nothing to mess around with, even if it is just a stomach bug, he's just to young to go without fluids!

Yes, stop with the formula and switch to water.
Give Pedialyte as well. He will stay hydrated with the Pedialyte.

No, you definitely DON'T want to give your son even diluted cow's milk. His stomach does not have the enzymes to digest it. It will make him sick. You could try adding a little water to the formula to stretch it out, if you ABSOLUTELY do not have the funds to buy the formula tonight. I wouldn't recommend watering it down too much or your son may not drink it; just an ounce or two. You really need to try to find a way to buy the formula, even just the smallest size container they have.

Try pedialyte first... He can have some water but not more than a bottle a day, because when babies are that little too much water can be very dangerous. I would give your babies doctor a call on about how much water is ok for his weight.

Yes, you can give him a couple of ounces of water to make sure he is hydrated...just make sure that you continue feeding him his formula since at this point the water holds no nutritional value for him. They really dont need water until they are 1...unless in cases like yours he just needs some extra hydration. Just try and make sure not to give him to much so he fills up on that instead of his formula. :)

Hi there!
I would call your baby's physician before giving him anything. Most likely he'll recommend giving small doses of Pedialyte, which is specifically made for children to help with dehydration.
Call your doctor first :)

You have to be carefull giving a small baby water because at that age it is very easy for the baby to aspirate into it's lungs.
