First off Green Lantern was not originally black. Before John Stewart there was Guy Gardner and the Original Blonde Green Lantern. And Batman has been the Dark Knight Since Day One. What Rock You been Under?? he's had comic series called the Dark Knight Come On man Get With The Program.

Batman was reimagined as The Dark Knight in a graphic novel The Dark Knight returns by Frank Miller in the 80's. It helped return Batman to his more dramatic roots and away from the campiness of the 60's and 70's.

Since when did the Green Lantern become a white guy and an alien? I swear on Saturday morning cartoons he is. Green Lantern was originally black and was a symbol for the Underground Railroad in the comic books.
I think that Batman was always called the Dark Knight.

He's ALWAYS been the Dark Knight! Just like Robin is the "Boy Wonder," Superman is the "Man of Steel," and Magneto is the "Master of Magnetism!"
