The guy is right. If you dont believe him ask him to get a few estimates, but I'd suspect the price is accurate. You do have insurance dont you?

That's how much the bumpers these days cost $905 sounds very reasonable.

He does have to replace the whole bumper because there is impact material that exists in the bumper. It's typically a combination of something like styrofoam and a mesh of plastic. Once damaged with a collision, it must be replaced because it will no longer be effective if he get's hit again.

That and I'm sure he doesn't want to pay the excessive fees when he turns in his leased vehicle for damages that were caused when you hit him.

Just have your insurance company take care of it, but $905 is reasonable. My wife's Toyota Corolla costed $780 to have the bumper replaced after she got hit.

Just for some additional info that was on the news today:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071220/ap_on_bi_ge/minivan_repairs

You can see these vehicles got hit between 3-6mph. Cost of repairs was in the thousands. With the cheapest being only $545. His $905 is not out of the range or possibilities, especially for a foreign made vehicle.

I'd have replace bumper its plastic cover! now if metal under neither bent that another problem damages could be $905/ but instead of paying him! ask to meet at shop doing repairs see the damage and estimate pay the shop half? if not reported to police he has pay other half! if police involved do half now the other half job done "Don't give him any money!"if damage is cosmetic probably only Small bill and he's trying scam you!!

Sorry to hearken to you acquire in a minor fender bender… a minimum of all human beings grow to be ok. Nope you may get any factors out of the mess, in basic terms fairly some issues out of your coverage business enterprise. right here’s my suggestion next time if in any respect fees, stay the hell out of latest Jersey. There’s no longer something yet a team of retard drivers and human beings in that state. every time i pass to Jersey I even have no longer something yet issues. stay keep!!!!

Just let your insurance take care of it. He is leasing the car and is going to be penalized for any damage it has when he turns it in.
