I really don't like highschool. Getting up early, and leaving in the later afternoon, 5 days a week doesn't make any sense to me. Of course, I appreciate my education, yet alot of the stuff we learn in highschool, will just stay in highschool. When are we ever going to see a Algebra equation, or a chemistry formula? I mean, yes, math is important, but so many of the things we learn in higschool won't matter in 6 years, except for those who are going to pursue something in the medical or engineering field. Yes, I love that we have English. I think English is one of the most important skills you need to have, but math. Wow, Oh math, it's making my GPA SOOO LOW. I hate it! I'm just not really a higschool person, I AM GOING TO LOVE COLLEGE THOUGH, ALTHOUGH, WILL COLLEGES SEE MY GPA AND AUTOMATICALLY NOT EVEN CONSIDER ACCEPTING ME? I WANT TO GO TO MINNESOTA TECHNICAL INSTITUTE AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

I am going out of state, to a place where there is acutally diversity and artistic things to look at. To me, it will most definately be an improvement. I just want the people who look at all my highschool related information, and consider to accept me.

People don't understand. I somewhat care about highschool. Although other things are getting in the way. I'm taking a college class in english and I have a B. this was my first advance class since my freshman year, 1 semester. I'm most definately played "catchup". I'm not as dumb as people consider me to be. I just don't like highschool, and am a loner. who can't wait to go to a place, far from here. Nothing to do with acadmics really.

College is not as awesome as it seems form the outside. I was liek you. "OMG I can't wait till highschool's over". But it's the same deal in college. You have to take all these prerequisites that are just useless to what you have to do. The grass is not always greener on the other side.

I'm talking about State Colleges though. Hope you find a betetr path than I did.

You should be ok with a community college. Math is very important. You do plan on earning money and paying bills, don't you? You may have a retirement plan? I didn't know there was such a thing as a highschool person. College is a lot harder than high school. You will be required to take math classes that are 10 times harder. You should be figuring out what you don't understand and getting extra help. You can do it. You need to change your attitude first. That will make a huge difference. If you gave it a real chance then you might discover that you actually love it or it's necessary for a career that might interest you. At any rate, you will use some level of math in your personal life.

You have to improve your math skills. You will need them. Ask for help. Meet with other students in your classes that are doing well. It's up to you. Don't squander the opportunities you still have.

Yes you are correct regarding Algebra , Chem Formulas etc. but these things teach or help us to think . Some colleges will not accept you based on GPA and SAT scores. I believe that a community college , state sponsored, must take you. Most colleges have some form of tutoring organizations which will help you to get through Math albeit with a D. Actually I would try to develop a more confident outlook on college. You are maturing and perhaps subjects which you dislike now, may be better taught and easier for you to grasp, Colleges will assign you to a grade dviser. Talk to that person about your feelings. Good Luck

If you are not doing well in High School then chances are you not going to do good in college. You can get in some Universitys with low High school grades but they will require you to maintain at least a 2.0 GPA to stay in the University. They may also require you to take some courses that will not count toward your degree so that you can meet the prerequisites for the courses that are required for your degree. There are no easy way outs. If you don`t prepare your self academically for college while you are in High School then you might as well figure on at least one extra semester of college just making up what you should have got in High School. To answer your question, No Colleges will not know you are more serious for college. They will assume that you have the same laid back, lackadaisical attitude that you had in in High School. Low grades in High School will also limit the number of Universitys that will accept you.

No, just do well on your ACTs, SATs. But don't like get D's! At least try to pull out a C. Get a tutor. High school math is not that hard and I HATE math. I'm a writer.

You'll be fine but try to take it a little more seriously. College is a crapload harder than high school. You will find that you will be behind a lot of people and will have to play catch up. And the professors will only help you if you act like you want the help. Don't get on academic probation because you're trying to go to all the parties either. Getting kicked out of college is not cute.

Good luck.

It doesn't necessarily get any easier in college. You will be glad of the education from high school, as it will prepare you in many ways for the challenges of studies at a higher level. Try your best to cope with the demands of high school, as boring as it might be. It will make a huge difference with your time in college. Don't give up -- you'll get through it.
