Well I'm taking piano lessons at an advanced level, and I don't think it would be very difficult for me technically. I suppose you could do it, but, as with every piece of music, it's learning to play it well that is the tricky part. The notes, rhythms, and fingerings shouldn't be an issue if you work hard enough. But don't forget that this is Chopin after all... it needs to be lyrical and expressive. Good luck!

You'll want to check out Andrew WK, Dream Theater, Nightwish, and maybe also songs by Led Zeppelin that are guitar driven but could easily be adapted to piano, such as Going To California or Stairway To Heaven. Queen's pretty fun on piano too. Journey too. I'm throwing a lot of suggestions at you, but I'm a musician myself and consider many of these bands the cream of the crop.

If you're between levels 2-3 then it might be a challenging piece but it would be possible with some work. This is of course based on my own experiences. I'm in level 7 RCM and I could play that piece easily (not wanting to show off, just saying...)

If your teacher said it is too hard maybe it is.

BUT, that said it doesn't mean you can't play it.

Just take your time with it.

Personally, i'm not great at piano, and i don't have lessons. But you obviously want to be able to play the song, and I can imagine you would be determined to play it.

Take your time and have fun. There is nothing wrong with slowing it down alot and gradually bringing the tempo up... thats what world famous musicians do with songs they find difficult. And listen to the recording of it!

Good luck!

It may be easy enough, but do you realize that this is a simplified version?
When I was a piano student, I felt degraded when asked to play simplified versions.
There are plenty of compositions as easy as this in their original versions.

If it's Chopin you want, try the prelude in A major, op. 28 no. 7 or the one in c minor op. 28 no. 20.

Why don't you just simply try it and see? If it is, look at it as a challenge, and try. Some people like challenges, and others don't. Only you can make a determination, and gage your own level, your frustration threshold.

On the other hand, what are teachers for?

This is an intermediate piece - your teacher is probably right and it is too advanced for you. You could try it... or ask your teacher for a simpler piece of Chopin (if that's what you want).

The piece was edited to a simplified (easy) arrangement, you most likely would not have any problems with it, but most certainly would not be able to play it in it's original form.

If you love it, play it. A challenge will make you excel faster than you would have, otherwise. Don't forget to use the pedal, that will add a lot.

If you are talking ADVANCED piano lessons, that should be easy for you. It looks rather simple to me.
