I have 2 disk drives, the top one works and opens, but does not read any kind of disk. My bottom one does not work at all it does'nt even open. I have'nt used them for awhile, but they did used to work. What should I try?

Depends on your system, but if you find DEVICE MANAGER you can ask it to check the device for proper operation. For WinXP, you get to Device Manager through Start >> Settings >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools and then browse your way through that dialog box to find Device Manager. Then you find the icons for the devices and click on them. The dialog box that opens up there will tell you if the device talked to the device driver at last reboot.

Are we talking CD roms? Floppy disks? Other removable media? Or did you use "open" in another sense of the word? Because without a FEW more details, it is hard to really help much.
