(According to polls)
GENDER: By far, the vast majority of Hillary's voters are women, of any race.
RACE: The only reason many whites won't vote for Obama, is because he is not white.
RELIGION. Most of Huckabee's (and republican in general) followers are religion fanatics, specifically Christians, who have no problem mixing politic and economic issues with religion. Huckabee's last campaign message is 100% religion-related, he talks only about celebrating Christmas, AS IF everybody in the US were 1) Religious and 2) Christian.

I'm a white Catholic, but I completely disagree with mixing religion with politics. I also disagree with ignorance-based, bias voting (women voting for a woman, just because she is of their gender; EVEN THOUGH THEY DON'T LIKE HER, AS MOST PEOPLE); whites voting for whites only, EVEN THOUGH THEY MAY ACKNOWLEDGE A PERSON OF COLOR IS BETTER SUITED FOR THE JOB, etc.

What do you think?

I have never voted for or against someone because of race, gender or religion. I vote for the person who I agree with on the issues and looking at the experience and ethics that he brings. Since it is almost impossible to find someone I agree with 100%, I vote for the candidate who is the closest to me on my most important issues, in 2007 those issues are: stopping illegal immigration, strengthening the border, being strong on national defense (to me national defense has a lot to do with the illegal immigration and strengthening the borders)and lowering taxes.

Gender, race, and religion are the three worst reasons to select any candidate. When selecting the next leader of your country it should not matter if the leader was born with more "x" or "y" chromosomes as well as it should not matter if the candidate is green, yellow, white, black, brown or any other color. When selecting a candidate you should look at the issues that are important to you and your family. Then you should research the positions of the presidential candidates, both the Democrats and the Republicans. There should be a candidate among the large crowd that will agree with your point more than the others.

I am a white agnostic male but I support Barack Obama.

There is no cut and dried answer to your question. There are people who will vote based on gender, race and religion. There are some people who will vote based on what the voices tell them to vote. I don't think they are in the majority, but since every vote counts such thoughtless votes are a waste.

Having said that, if a candidate is honor bound to do anything the head of his church tells him to do, if he has vowed to do that, then that becomes an issue. Such is the case with Romney. He's not just a member of his church, he's held many important positions, including bishop. The guy is serious about his religion. Mormons believe that their god speaks directly to their leader and they vow to do whatever their leader tells them to do. They also believe an angel named Moroni gave their founder some gold plates, which he had to put in a hat with rocks, stick his head in the hat to translate the plates from Reformed Egyptian to English. Never mind that such a language never existed. So, based on his religion, I think it's best not to let him and his magic rock reading leader near the White House. They use the same words Christians do, but many of their words have different definitions. Good fodder for the Simpsons and South Park (they've both had fun with mormons) but not good for the country.

Well looking at the stats one could think that.

I go by Ideals and religion first, gender and race are really among the least of my concerns in a president.

I know one girl who refuses to vote for Hilary, so at least not everyone is like that.

Most of the people I know are going for Huckabee or Obama,.

=\ I think Ron Paul is a pretty neat candidate

Why is it if you are white and not supporting Obama, it is because your racist? Religion and politics have always been mixed together. Do you really believe a atheist would have any chance at all? JFK had to defend his beliefs in the 1960 presidential race, republicans have to prove theirs, democrats have to prove theirs. I know plenty of women who will not vote for Hillary because she is a women. People will always vote for a candidate for some stupid reason, it does not mean they are racist, sexist, religiously prejudiced, etc. You do know one any good when you just group people with no proof.

Where are you getting the facts to bac kup your assertions?

HRC led among men and women. Her support comes from women, who as a perceived aggrieved minority (even though they are the majority) are allowed to vote via identity politics. Men are not.

Race. Actually Clinton did better among African Americans than Obama. Obamas main support comes from leftist white men.

Religion: All candidates use religion. Paul, Giulliani and Obama all have Christmas ads.

On religion, Huckabee is actually a waffler. Coulter took apart the Huckster. http://www.jewishworldreview.com/cols/coulter122007.php3

I think biases voting based on race, gender or religion is completely ignorant. we need to do some research and choose to vote for a candidate that is honest and has the solutions to our effed up country. i am voting for Ron Paul in the primaries, not because hes white, a man, or his religion whatever it is, neither because, according to mainstream media, he is not leading in the polls, but because i honestly agree with him and his background checks out. he will bring our country back

I agree that voting or not voting for someone because of these things is ridiculous..
I vote for somebody that has the same views as I do and that I can agree with as a candidate.

you and I can vote for whoever we want for whatever reason.

I do not think that race, gender and religion are the "main reason" many people will choose who they vote for.

the sense i get from talking to all the people i talk to about this stuff, is that they want someone who can lead and make decisions based on what the people want.
