Mesopotamia was at the beginning of civilization where people began to focus on one skill such as a potter or scribe versus being a hunter gatherer or having a secluded family farm. Once people started coming together in cities many jobs created themselves. The most common were likely farmers, potters and cloth makers. They had artists and scribes but they weren't as proficient as the other groups. They also had priests who were also the doctors, government administrators and spiritual guides.
