After they gave you best answer, you looked at their profile and decided, gee this would be fun to have them in my network.

I am very careful when choosing a member for a contact. When I see someones q&a's that makes me say "gee", if possible, I read their profile and check out more of their questions and answers. If we have similar views (and they are not too weird) I am pleased to have them as a contact.

That is how I found you my dear Dianne. :)

Wishing one and all a joyful and blessed Christmas,
Cheers!

As far as I recall I have only made first contact twice.
In both cases they were very high up in comparison to me, but for reasons I will keep to myself.
I emailed them to inform them of something I had seen, and surprise surprise, they are regular people like the rest of us, and after a couple of emails about the topic I decided to link up.

One I now email through on everyday email addresses perhaps 2-5 times per week.

no, I don't think I've ever added a contact, I just wait until people add me.
I have too many to keep up with as it is.
lol
I go through and delete the "dead" or non-active ones semi-frequently, just because I don't like having friends that I can't use. (hehe that sounds bad. I didn't mean it like that. I just meant if they're not doing anything on here anyways, I don't want them taking up all that space on my list of contacts.)
:O)

Many times, and also the reverse.
I want a good look at someone's cleverness before making an instant judgment, though, by looking at their other content. Then I'll write, seeking their permission and proceed from there. With the trollism abounding it's better safe than sorry, and MANY of my contacts have become trusted and GENUINE friends.

I stopped doing that. I am embarrassed to add a man because they think you're flirting and it just seems presumptuous. I am shy on the inside and I would rather let someone else choose me. It has to be someone you trust too.

Yes, I've done that--when I see really good or funny questions and/or answers. I've also picked people out of the clear blue because of a question or answer given by them :)

Yeah I thik that too, but then I think they would think I was weird, like what the hell? I just gave you BA, nothing more...lol

If anyone reads this you can add me, or to my 360 :)

Yes, I have done this a few times before. I've added a few people this week.

All the time. If they aren't who you think they were, who really cares, just ignore them or remove them as a contact!
