There really isn't much that can be done I'm afraid. You could try some diorhalite but it tastes horrible and he probably won't take it. My 7 month old has the same problem at the moment. It's messy, but as long as your baby is still taking on plenty of liquids, he won't get dehydrated and he will be fine. Doctors don't take much notice of diarrhoea unless it's gone on for more than 5 days.
Don't cut back on his milk - that's the staple of his diet and he needs to nutrients. It's not the same as with an older child where you can let them go hungry for a day or so. Your baby really needs that milk even if it's coming out a bit runny. The antibiotics might have upset his stomach.
Hope he gets better soon.

It sounds like the anitibiotics - they can cause tummy upsets in adults as well as children. I had Amoxycilin last year for a UTI when I was pregnant and they made me feel so sick!
If he really wants his milk I don't know if you can withhold it, its their staple diet at this age anyway. The only problem with little ones is that they can get dehydrated from diarrhoea.
Ask your chemist for some sachets of Dioralyte - these are fruit flavoured rehydration salts which you add to some cooled boiled water and give your baby to drink in between his bottles. We used them when my son had a nasty sickness bug and was vomiting a lot. They will make sure your little man doesn't get dehydrated while you're waiting for the diarrhoea to stop. I imagine if its the antibiotics causing it, it will stop once they are out of his system.

Hi antibiotics are bad for causeing diahorrea although there is a winter bug going around too. You are doing the right thing to take him to the doctors. Its good he stil wants to feed, justkeep him hydrated and give him water or juice in between his milk, ask you doctor to give him diorillyte it is to replace any sugars and salts that the body has lost through diahorrea. I personally think it is a bug and it is not antibiotic that is causing this, that usually just causes soft bowel movement not diahorrea. Hope you all feel better soon, take care xxx

The most common cause, if she isn't vomiting along with the diarrhea, is the wrong kind of food. But she should see a vet, because she may be extremely dehydrated and need IV fluids for a while. the IV fluids also give her system time to heal before she goes back on solid food. See what food the vet recommends, & take his advice. There are a lot of products out there, & they aren't all right for all cats.

Infants can get easily dehydrated. Pedialyte is good for this. What worked for my babies was Coca Cola, believe it or not. Shake the fizz out and let the infant have a bit of the flat coke. The diarrhea will end in no time.

Go ahead and see the doctor, to be on the safe side.
Due to him having diarrhoea, they will probably give him DIORALYTE (not too sure of spelling)
It will be a powder that you add to cool boiled water, for him to get his fluids back.
Hope he gets well soon for you!!!

did he get his rotavirus shot yet?
keep him hydrated and take him to the doc 1st thin in the morning. Diahrrea is not to be taken lightly. Also, antibiotics sometimes can cause diahrrea, but we aren't Drs so his Pedi will tell you for sure.

Ohhhh antibiotics are dreadful for causing it!!! Probably nothing to do with what the other two have. Amoxycillin was dreadful with my daughter - she used to get poo right up her back when she had that!!! Horrid!
