I have access to their house all the time and there is some medication missing. They believe I stole it and I didn't, I'm trying to get pregnant, so it doesn't make sense for me to do that. I told them I didn't and they were welcome to my house to look or to my blood work to see I didn't take it. They might get police involved to figure it out. I'm so uncomfortable with the whole situation. How do I get around this and move on if they won't?

If you really are innocent, you married into a pretty looney family. God speed.

If they have something missing from their house and you weren't involved, they SHOULD get police involved. Other than they may have been mistaken, SOMEONE stole it and it wasn't a known person (such as you).

Let them call police. You have nothing to hide.

You can't change what other people do or think.

A big question is, where is your husband in this whole thing? You are saying "I didn't take it" so someone did. Surely, you aren't the only one with access to their house. I think, in the end, they will be the one looking like a fool.

Before they ask, return the key with someone else as a witness. Then, do not enter their house without someone else being with you. They will accuse you of everything from here on.

Most importantly, keep your composure. It seems they are intent on making you the bad person, and they would like nothing more than you being miserable.

Who else has access to the house?
Does anyone in your husbands family have a history with drug abuse?
Has anyone been going over to their home a lot, especially near the time of the medication being stolen?
Does anyone show an interest in their medications and specifically asking questions regarding the one that is missing?

Maybe they should keep their meds locked away in a safe in their bedroom versus in a spot where anyone could get their hands on it.

This is a tough situation.

There must be some reason why they would think to accuse you. What is your relationship like with them? What is your marriage like?

What does your husband say about all of this?

If you truly did not steal the medication, all you can do is be honest. If they choose not to believe you, that is their choice. If they involve the police, let them. It sounds like you have nothing to hide, so let them.

Are you absolutely the only person with full access to their house, apart from them? What about your partner? Their other children? A cleaner?

If you are clean, then you have nothing to fear. Insist they call the police and report a burglary and be there when they arrive if you can.

Perhaps they have simply not put their medication in the place they normally keep it, and have forgotten? Its just a thought.

Why would they not trust you?

well if they are on meds and that worried about the meds why would you want to get involve in this family?
A normal adult if missing a prescription medication would not get upset about it and question anyone they would just go to the doc and get more.
Unless it is pain meds that most people are addicted too and if so then they are users also if they are that worried about a bottle of pills
MOVE ON
If you truely did not take them dont get pregnant find a normal family

Why would they accuse you of stealing medication from them? Have you had a drug problem in the past? Guess it really doesn't matter....as long as you know you are innocent...unless they have proof that you stole anything...the police aren't going to do a damn thing....

Wow! You've done what you can do. If they choose to disbelieve you... you'll just have to let it go. Make sure they get their keys back and sign a paper saying that they received them..(registered mail) and stay AWAY from them. If they decide to apologize...great...but don't count on it!

I am surprised about your in-laws thinking of you as a thief. My suggestion for you would be, that you confront them and tell them that you are completely innocent of what they are accusing you of, and that they owe you an apology. If they persist that you are guilty then tell them that you have nothing more to say to them or even see them till they apologize to you formally.

The truth will come out and you will be cleared of it. However, if you were you, I will return the key and I will not go to their house anymore even if they invite me. Because obviously, they have ZERO respect and trust for you.
