I have asked questions about jobs before and I've had a couple people answer that they are stay at home wives??? What are they doing other than what the rest of us do after we get out of work? Obviously they don't have kids to take care of because they would say they are a stay at home mom.
One woman said she works 24/7 because she is a stay at home wife, but that's ok cause she loves it...
well of course you love it, who wouldn't?!

I understand there are things to do at home. I have a full time job and I still do the cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.. I don't say I have TWO jobs.
There's nothing wrong with being a stay at home wife, I would love to.. but I wouldn't say it is a JOB, like you would a stay at home MOM.

Um I really can't say a stay at home wife is a job either. Ur doing for urself not for others as a stay at home mom cares for her children. I guess u can say a stay at home wife cares for her husband but that really doesn't count considering he don't make a mess like kids do, he's not home to feed him lunch, u don't have to wipe his a**, and u don't have to help him w/ homework. I think a stay at home wife is just a person that doesn't wanna work which is fine, to each their own but u can't sit there and call it a job! Let's put it this way a stay at home wife has NO RIGHTS to b*tch!!

Well, I am a wife, a full time student, and a part time worker. Right now, I'm on Christmas break for a month..doing absolutely nothing. I'm not working or anything, so I guess I'm a temporary stay at home wife. I must say, however, that I have been keeping busy with the house, etc. There is no laundry piled up, no dishes, nothing to dust, etc. but it has only stayed that way because I'm here all day to do it. Totally different picture than during the semester :)
It is a hard job to stay at home 24/7 because there is always something to do around the house..always dishes, piles of papers to go through, etc. I admit, a stay at home mom is a MUCH harder job, though.

I would think that a stay at home wife would be someone who does the cleaning, the laundry, the cooking, and running errands.
I am off for a year because I just had my son 5 weeks ago. If I didn't have kids, I would be BORED out of my mind. I think it would be really fantastic if my husband made 300,000 a year, but I would go work somewhere part time or do something. I know that I would go stir crazy. I guess I could handle shopping every day. I could think of many ways to spend a bunch of money. And I wish that I could. There are so many great things out there.
Sniff...I want lots of money now.

A stay at home wife makes sure that the hubby has clean laundry to wear to work, food on the table when he gets home from work, and takes care of whatever else the 2 in the marriage have decided. Regardless of what everyone thinks, being a stay at home wife is a lot more work than you'd realize.

i see nothing wrong with being a stay at home wife....as long as the house is always, clean food is prepared, and anything else that needs to get done.
Back in the day thats how it was, i think now a days its hard to see a stay at home wife and we think that their just being lazy and i'm sure some women are out there but for the most part i think they do a great job with what they do.

Perhaps women use "stay at home wife".....synonymously with '"stay at home mother"....after all..."stay at home mothers" are most likely a wife as well...
If a woman is truly a "stay at home wife" without children...she probably does the same things a woman with children does....Laundry, cleaning the house, grocery shopping paying the bills...etc....To a woman that can afford to stay home and take care of a house and husband may consider it her "job"....Who am I to judge her??If her and her husband agree to the arrangement of her staying home....I say great for them!

Wife? She keeps the house nice and has supper on the table when the husband comes home! She is then ready for a pleasant evening with her husband because all of the house work is done!
Mother? HECK my wife is home with our 3 (fourth on the way) children and she works a heck of a lot harder than I ever do! I wouldn't trade her "stay at home" job for mine any day!

There is still cleaning, cooking, laundry to do and bills to pay. It probably is just not as hectic without the children.
