Yes, you can move to the Philippines with your wife to start a business,

There a many foreigners under the same situation that has their own business here.

But, check with the Philippine Bureau of
Immigrations if there are requirements for a prolonged stay in the country

Well, there are certain requirements for you to stay in the Philippines and even more requirements for business permits. According to the current constitution of the Philippines, foreigners can only 40% of the business so it can be beneficial if your wife owns the business. Moreover, its more advantageous that you hire a good lawyer so that you can avoid corrupt officials in processing your papers. Officials will tend to be bias in transacting with foreigners since they will suck all your fortunes in fictional fees.

sure can and many foreigners and filipinos rom abroad had gone back to do just that. for foreigners you would need to have special permits to own business in the philippines, but I believe it is now allowed as a special investor retiree package.

Yes you can.. As long as you have enough capital and a stable fallback just in case things don't work then you are fine. Also, keep an account in the US so that you can have something for the rainy day..
