(after spitballs were declared illegal that is)

All of these are examples of gaining a competitive advantage, but in my opinion harming your body is much worse in the long run.

I would go with the steroids or HGH as the worse of the two for the same reason you cite.

I can't imagine any athlete choosing to risk permanent damage to his or her health, but many do, and I think that is very bad. Of course all cheating hurts the sport--whatever the sport might be--but a person who harms his or her body is going beyond cheating in my view.

As Frizzer has already stated, all are bad for the simple reason that they are all cheating.
However, at least someone who is using a corked bat or throwing a spitter is doing so during the game, and is more likely to be found out. ( Particularly more likely then finding out that someone is on HGH since there is no accurate urine test for it yet)
At least the players who throw spitters or cork bats are doing it more publicly.

I gotta go with roids/hgh... Spit Ball/Corked bat are still cheating, but they don't set the example to kids of "It's alright to hurt your body by taking these illegal drugs".

HGH I consider the same as roids but they are obviously the worst they change your body into somthing its not suppose to be and gives players a huge edge look at bonds

Steroid use in moderation can be healthy,. Of course, there was nothing in moderation of how Clemens, Bonds and McGwire used steroids.

It would be compared to breaking just one of the ten commandments, if you break any one of them you have broken them all because it is one single doctrine. If you break any one of the MLB rules, some of them, or all of them, you are called by the same name, a cheater.

The worst is flat out lying to your audience that you don't do these things and then getting caught.
