My laptop has been broken for awhile, since it won't take a charge from a wall-charger because the motherboard is loose. I'm curious if there is a way to hook up a laptop to another computer, to use it's power supply, because I want to back-up some files before I get it fixed.

No you can't hook the laptop up to another computer for power ... you can however remove the hard-drive and piggyback that onto another computer for access and backing up of files
Depending on whether it's an IDE or Sata hard-drive will determine the type of connection you need ... I'm thinking it's a slightly older laptop so it will be IDE and you can buy an external enclosure that will connect through USB for under $25.00 .... it's not difficult ... Hope you have someone that can give you some help :)

Your best bet on this would be to get a usb laptop adapter. I just got one for around $16 with the tax, so relatively cheap.
You just take out the hard drive from the laptop, hook it up to the adapter, connect the usb into another computer and your laptop HD will show up as a secondary drive. Copy over the files you need and you are set.

This might work for you:

Since most of the hard drives are of the same sizes.
I will advise that you take of the hard drive and inset it into another laptop to access it and transfer your file to a usb device.
