If homophobes were born that way, gay ,white,or black, athetic or bright, and no one ever tricked them, or forced them to be homophobic, doesn't this mean that they are morally blameless ? Couln't this twisted fate have happened to you? Can we speculate that homophobia is biological? Isn't homophobia fixed and unchangable. If homophobia is a view point then it is a behaviour, right? Can anyone give any conclusive scientific evidence that homophobia is not genetic?

Good question for the homosexuals who always cry "HOMOPHOBE!" and attempt to justify their abhorrent behavior by saying that it is biological.
The truth of the matter is that homophobia is a fiction. No one actually fears homosexuals. That's a word that homosexuals invented to help themselves fake persecution. Understanding that something is an immoral aberrant behavior is not the same thing as fearing the person who engages in that behavior. Most people dislike the behavior of rapists and murderers but that doesn't mean we fear the rapist or murderer.

Good question but lets not get too out of hand here.
Homosexuality is biologically shown as a chemical imbalance in the brain. Now if you consider hate a chemical imbalance then I guess that it's what it is. Yet I am going to say this.
If you were born white would you recognize other races as black white or rican? no. Over time you acquire a hate for someone if you are not introduced or informed improperly.
The fact that you think hate for a characteristic for someone sexual preference or color is ridiculous.
It is a decent question though.
in my humble opinion.

Homophobia is just a manifestation of fear; fear of anything different. The same fear can also manifest as racism or sexism.
Homophobia isn't biological as there is nothing to prove that it is. It has its roots in the last 2000 years due to repressive traits in various religions. Homophobia didn't exist in many Antiquity societies.
Stew; that's a bold statement by saying "you're giving a thumbs down to God" you know. Why would he ever make a type of person who is only there to be hated for who they are? Maybe you're just the hateful one; justifing your hatred due to an obscure one line verse in Leviticus which has also been taken out of context.

Homophobia is learned...all fear is learned. Like any other kind of fear or ignorance, education is the key. Blaming won't fix anything. I don't have scientific proof, but I used to suffer from internalized homophobia. I no longer do.

"Is homophobia a behaviour or an identity?"
The very bane of our existance. Us glbt people always have to strategize in order to thrive. I wish people like that would just fall down dead RIGHT NOW!!! Looking from your own life experience, who doesn't feel this way???

Studies on 100 college students (half homophobes) proved what many already knew, when shown suggestive photos of gay sex those that considered themseleves homophobes were proven to be stimulated way more than those that saw gays as normal people, Food for thought!

no, hate is not genetic but fear can be. fear is a natural human experience and some people were not brought to the enlightened place some of us were because there was no one around to teach them to love people PAST their differences.
my paren'ts arent homophobes, they just think it is wrong to act on the inclination.
they do not know that i am bi and i don't plan on them ever knowing, NOT because i don't accept it but because it would crush them.

Homophobia is a LEARNED behavior taught by parents and churches out of ignorance, fear, and hate. Of course it isn't genetic.

I don't think it's literally genetic, but I do think that it's all in how the person was raised.
I've actually known a few homophobic people who have changed their thinking, so it's not impossible.

Phobia = fear of something or someone.
Please define what you mean by homophobia
Is that being fearful or gays/lesbians or just biased against them?
Thanks
