How come some aren't allowed to marry Japanese people? Aren't they all the same race but just different ethnicities? Can anyone tell me why they aren't allowed to marry Japanese people? Also I hear that their parents would examine Japanese people more carefully. Can anyone tell me why?

Thanks for reading.

I'm allowed to be with anyone I want but I'm curious why some of these people can't go for certain people who are of the same ace as them.

They don't just give citizenship, you gotta sign up right? I'm pretty sure it works for people of Japanese ancestry to get citizenship for Japan. If it doesn't work that means they are just racist against half bloods.

I don't think the new generation should continue the hate though...

There is a lot of resentment of Japanese from their actions in the 30's and 40's (1900's), during their occupation of the two countries. Many Chinese and Korean people are still very bitter. You should read about it -- start with "The Rape of Nanking". I feel at what point do you carry it with you? There is a lot of intermarriage, so that is changing.

It is just racism, or nationalism if you consider them the same race. Same reason as racism in other parts of the world... ignorance. There should be no reason a person can't marry another person.

But there are some serious historical issues Koreans and Chinese have with the japanese from World War II.

I think its totally silly but I guess they want to keep their bloodlines either Korean or Chinese and not mix them. I will never understand that myself.

Fenrir I asked you a question earlier: Why is it that Black/Japanese people are not offered citizenship even though they are of Japanese ancestry? Ok I see. Thanks for answering that question.

That's not true.
My friend is half Korean and half Japanese.

Most Asian parents/families don't want their children to marry outside their nationality. They say they want their bloodline pure (that's what my parents say). Also, history is another factor but shouldn't interfere with anyone.

Google the Rape of Nanking (China) and the Kanto Massacre (Korea).
