I'm almost 36 weeks along, and everytime I get hot and heavy with my husband, or even myself, he starts kicking and going nuts. I know its natural, but it really kinda creeps me out and kills my mood. It just makes me feel really awkward. Does/has anyone else ever felt like that? This is probably a silly question, but I kinda need to feel like I'm not the only one .. lol.

You are talking about the baby kicking, right? Not your hubby?

I'm at 32 weeks and "hot and heavy" is all that's on my mind!! Oh my gosh like you wouldn't believe.....or well maybe you would. That is hilarious, but you know what, I've never felt the baby move during. Or maybe because I'm concentrating on other things, I don't notice. But he is a pretty active little boy especially when I sit down to relax and watch tv, he's like "yippie time to play!" Maybe you could try and place another distraction in the room, like leaving the tv on or radio.....or make more noise yourself... LOL!! I don't know what else I could advise but it does suck when the mood gets killed. RIP mood for another 3 months... :o(

And for all you meanies that are just on here for points, if you're so desperate for points at least say something like "I don't know call your doctor", but you don't have to be mean and gross. It's not disgusting to have sex at 36 weeks. Some doctors will even recommend to begin contractions.

I am a male so no I haven't been threre exactly. When you are having sex your utuerus is going to contract especially during orgasm and the baby will respond. Sure it may be weird or a little suspecious, but it isn't hurting the child. There is plenty of protection for the baby.

Sex can also help induce labor. Semen naturally causes contractions for this reason, not to mention could help your water to break after your are far enough along and dialated.

Nothing to worry about as long as the baby is moving and your are not bleeding like you do during your menstral cycle.

Anyway, I am not an OBGYN, but my wife is... but these are my individual thoughts and knowledge.

Call your OB they can answer your questions... That is what they are there for.

wow how do people not know its safe to have sex right up until your water breaks?
shouldnt answer the questions, if you dont have a real answer, morons!
anyway, Im only 21 weeks and when my boyriend and I have sex, the baby sometimes kicks. it is kinda weird, but the baby has NO idea whats going on. My boyriend always wonders if the baby can see, or feel whats going on.. but no its impossible!
just enjoy the sex now while you still can, wont be doing it for over a month ater the little one is born!!!

I think it's hilarious how people say it's not okay to have sex being as far along as you are.. Ha! I'm 37 wks. pregnant and still going at it. If you are not high risk pregnancy you can have sex up until your ninth month depending on how you are feeling..doctors actually recommend it sometimes when you're past your due date to help with the labor process.. anyway, your baby getting active is normal. Some babies get rocked to sleep from all the moving..from what my doctor says. Don't worry about it, he doesn't know what mommy and daddy are doing. I think mine gets rocked to sleep but he gets really active when we are done..lol.. you are fine, ask your doctor, you'll see!

I have had a gas attack during sex. Not a baby kicking, but still a major mood killer.
I don't really think there is anything you can do.

Sex has to be comfortable. Picturing and feeling a fetus would kill anyone's mood.

Don't worry though, abstinence makes the heart grow fonder. I am going almost a year and a half now. You can survive a few months if necessary.

The baby is perfectly safe and insulated, don't worry about it, in fact it is known that unless you have a high risk pregnancy men's sperm contains a hormone that actually helps a woman with labor, so have fun cause after the baby comes you will be too tired to even blink, my oldest is 9 and I am still shaving one leg at a time (a week in between).

ok first off dont listen to some of those idiots!! good lord, pple are mean! your pregnant not diseased, sex is NATURAL! dont give up sex just because your pregnant, you have six weeks of no sex after labor! ok so anyway after my rant, im only 3 months along with my first so i dont know how you feel yet but i can only imagine that it would feel weird! just for reassurance your baby isnt kickin you because it "knows" what your doing the only thing the baby knows is that the rocking motion and the tightening of your uterus feels good for him so try not to worry, he is kickin you because he likes it. also in healthy pregnancys sex is recommended by doctors later on in pregnancy! good luck and i hope this helped!

I was never more horney than when I was pregnant. I think it has to do with all the pressure and extra blood flow down there. Hey, all long as your spouse is willing, enjoy. Once the baby comes it will be a long dry spell before you feel like it again.

When I was preg. with my son, it was kinda weird to being going at it with my husband, and my son starts to kick and move like crazy. I was kinda not into it whenever he started to move as well, but after awhile you get use to it, and its not uncommon for you to fill that way. Its natural!

Yea.. I had that experience and it kinda does blow the mood. It's probably because he's upset that you're not focused on him. (LOL) It's normal though. You're disturbing his flow.
