V. Putin certainly is newsworthy and a Time representative said, "it's not a popularity contest". Still, I think the man who is the most notable is Preident George W Bush! He has done more damage to our country than Putin has even thought of doing to Russia! Bush's decisions have adversely affected more people, too. C'mon Time...be fair! What say you?

The photo of him is pretty awful - far too close-up.

I personally don't think he should have won, he has helped Russia sure, but he is a dictator and enemy of freedom! Look at the situation in Chechnya!
But I think Time's competition is a joke though; they had China's president in the running, and Stalin has won it twice before.

Agreed! Perhaps they should put both on it. But that would be a very ugly mess. So they leave out the ugliest which is Bush. :P

Neither should've been as Time's Person of the Year. Actually if you look at the year 2007, no one really did something that was great.

Maybe Ron Paul for making us look at the constitution again.
