Savage is certainly not the first to call CAIR's political motivations into question. CAIR is the leading Islamic lobby group in the nation and the organization is accorded a great deal of legitimacy by the mainstream media, the Bush administration and other politicians, academia, civil rights activists, and even military and federal agencies that have employed the group's assistance for "sensitivity" and "cultural training." Nonetheless, questions surrounding CAIR's philosophical underpinnings, foreign funding, and political goals continue to haunt the group's footsteps.

Federal prosecutors named CAIR, along with the Islamic Society of North America and the North America Islamic Trust, an unindicted co-conspirator in the recent case involving the now-defunct Muslim charity the Holy Land Foundation and its alleged financial ties to the Palestinian terrorist group turned terrorist government Hamas. Also coming to light via the Dallas trial was a 1991 memo put out by the Egyptian Islamist organization the Muslim Brotherhood citing a strategy to subvert the West using mainstream Islamic front groups such as CAIR. As Dallas Morning News columnist Rod Dreher put it:

The HLF trial is exposing for the first time how the international Muslim Brotherhood — whose Palestinian division is Hamas — operates as a self-conscious revolutionary vanguard in the United States. The court documents indicate that many leading Muslim-American organizations — including the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the Islamic Society of North America and the Muslim American Society — are an integral part of the Brotherhood's efforts to wage jihad against America by nonviolent means.

Savage exercised his freedom of speech and spoke his mind on the intent of a nationally recognized advocacy group.

He must have struck a nerve somewhere because CAIR has broken several laws to produce a smear campaign against him. Now Savage is insisting on his "day in court". Exercising another American right to be made whole under the law.

CAIR is about to be unmasked and I'm sure they're squirming!

*Michael Savage..I don't trust any Muslim's. Anyone that refuses to refute or reject these groups of terrorist, bares close scrutiny.
It's time to have an American revolution at the ballot box and take our country back.

Why do I have to pick sides? Savage is an idiot who is using this whole situation for self promotion. My opinion on CAIR is based on facts not having anything to do with Savage.

I would have to go with Savage after reading the article.

I used to listen to his show, but its a little too much vitirol for my tastes....

BUt time and time again he is proven substantially more factually correct than those who disagree with him. Not always, but many more times often than not.

As for others, your personal opinion of his personal leanings shouldn't matter here, this clearly a non-emotional case if you look at it.

But I suppose most of you just picked somoene without even reading the story...sad.

When you suggest that we have to pick a side where one of the two sides is Michael Savage, then you are suggesting that there is a 50% chance that Michael Savage is right. I don't think there has ever been a time where there was a 50% chance that Michael Savage was right.

Mike, no doubt about it. CAIR is just another front for Muslim extremist groups

I'll go with Dr. Savage. He's one of the few voices in the media with enough testicular fortitude to call a spade a spade regarding the "religion of peace".

I take M. Savage's side. He is not always right, but he always has the best interest of the US in mind while CAIR is out to destroy this nation!!
