The way Disney prices their tickets they give a bigger discount the more days you are going for.
For example at Walt Disney World a 1-Day Park Hopper is $116, but if you select 10 Days with the No-Expiration option it is only $450(or $45 a day). So if you are planning on going there at anytime in the future your best bet might be to purchase a Multi-Day park hopper with the No Expiration option. This way you can go back at any time to finish up your unused days and save quite a bit.
It does not work quite the same way at Disneyland. Here they multi-day tickets are still cheaper per day the more days you are there, but they expire 13 days after first use. So you usually have to get the number of days you are going for.
Other thing to look out for is discounts, at various times of the year both parks may give special offers on tickets as part of a package or if you purchase them in advance. There are places such as AAA and CostCo that also have travel packages that you can get discounts with.
But do not purchase tickets off of Ebay, a majority of these tickets will either be expired or unused days of a Park Hopper(Although this is mostly Disneyland that this occurs with). If you have problems using these tickets Disney will not be of any help as it is a violation to resell the tickets.

If you want tickets for this time of year your not going to find any discounts, this is a busy time and they have no problems filling the parks. Since you don't mention which Disney parks you want tickets for ill give you some info on both.
For Walt Disney World in Florida, book through Disney to stay on Disney property. The longer you stay the cheaper tickets get. They will set you up with a package that is quite reasonable. After the first of the year you might see some specials come along.
For Disneyland in California they are offering a special for after mid Jan 08, I believe its 5 days for the price of 3 and local good neighbor hotels were offering 5 nights for the price of four. Check the Disney website for the specials.
Sometimes AAA will get a few discounted packages also that will be a little cheaper than direct from Disney so if your a AAA member you can check with them. Costco has the City pass that includes Disneyland, Universal and San Diego zoo or animal park but its a waste of money if your not going to do all of them. The USO sometimes has discounted tickets if your military and sometimes state employees can get discount tickets through the state.

AAA really is the best option for Disneyland or Disney World Tickets. However, a membership with them and a 3-day ticket purchase, or longer is required to take advantage of their discount.
Disney Stores offer tickets for both parks as well, but their prices are exactly the same as if you were to purchase them online from Disney directly.
I do not recommend attending timeshare presentations to get tickets, unless you are truly interested in purchasing a timeshare condo.

I have the insiders scoop since I am a disney vacation club member. Disney controls all of their prices. Don't fall into the AAA trap of cheap advance sale tickets. Just go on disney's website and get their advance sale price. Then compare to other's claims. What AAA does is a list a savings over the GATE price. They clearly state it but nobody bothers to check out the disney price. Everyone assumes buying it somewhere else is cheaper than with disney. WRONG! Always buy your tickets in advance and either online at disney.com or through a local disney store. They both charge the same price. The only other deal is to buy a package through disney where they give you free days or buy the annual pass. You will save money on multiple trips within a year with this pass and also save on rooms and food. I have been to disneyland once and disney world at least 30 times in the last five year. I have spoken to employees, etc. and checked out all the prices myself. Trust me on this one.

Aside from having to sit through one of those timeshare presentations, I don't think it's going to happen. Disney and low prices just don't go together, sorry.
