Today I was sooo sick I actually broke down and called my MIL to see if she'd take me to the hospital and afterwards she takes me to her house supposidly so she can gimme our Xmas presents and as I stood in her house I was horrified by all the junk she had and I mean litterally junk. It was like piles of trash besides the sofa a massive mound of used tissues on the sofa, 10 million candy wrappers... Then every nook and cranny is filled with some sort of figure of a Westie or some weird picture of someones child that no one has any clue who they are .... I mean just standing there I was going insane ....

My aunt, her house isn;t unclean, just very very untidy.
She keeps magazines and newspapers from like, before Princess Diana died !!
You have to push all these aside to sit down !
Seriously !
And the heating is always on full, summer or not !!

YEAP, I used to watch this little girl and her mother os fo bucking dirty, I can not believe it, her bathroom sink had dust, dirt and God know what else on it, her toilet was dirty and had hair on it, she moved into this partment and didn't unpack for 1 entire freaking year, her house had boxes all over, they had a second bedroom that you could not even walk into so was her whole house you had to walk around trying to avoid falling over boxes. There was paper on the stove, there was paper on the sink, on the microwave, there was paper all over her freaking house, I am not kidding you and the worst part is that she has a little daughter and in my opinion is not an emmotionally fit mother. Also I think the fire department would consider her having boxes and paper near her heater and all over her house including on her stove a fire hazard and not only that child services would take her daughter away like that if they found out her house is not clean for a child to live there! ;( Anyway, I feel bad for the little girl and wish I could talk to her dad, cause her parents are getting a divorce and in my opinion the fater is the better parent and the mother only wants custody for the money, but I don't know how to do that cause I am afraid he would tell her, so I would get in trouble! Anyway that woman's house horrified me and it smelled like pee!

It just depends on what you were used to growing up. My mother was home all day when I was growing up and the house was always clean. If someone was used to a house where both parents work, it's probably not going to be as clean and they're okay with it because that's "normal" to them.
I've also encountered older people who've lived through the Depression and never throw anything that might be of any use out because they had to go without when they were young.
