The answer to the question has nothing directly to do with falure rates or what system is "better" (which is totally subjective). It's all about the money. MS has long said that if they don't turn a profit on the 360 (and given the big financial hit they took on the extended warranty, that will be rough to do), they will stop making consoles.

Obviously someone above has never played an XBOX to know what they are talking about...
Personnaly, I've owned an 360 since about the third month they came out, well over a year ago. Not once have I had a problem. Sure, there are consoles that have the "red ring of death," but this is largely in the early consoles, and up until recently. I've heard Micro$oft has new software that's going into the newer consoles, and anyone who has a console that suffers from the red ring of death can send it in, and have it fixed.
It sucks that Micro$oft got the 360 out too quickly without really checking over the software, but hey, they've got excellent games. Halo 3, the entire Halo series for that matter, Gears of War, Bioshock, just to name a few. PS3 has Ratchet and Clank... Wii has several games, such as Mario, but I think he lost much of the originality about 20 years ago. Most people who buy the Wii will be disapointed when they realize it's not fun to play ALL the time. Really, it's the best at parties. The graphics suck, though.

The PS3 won't win the industry sooner or later. particular, it is a superb device yet, it is heavily improper in assessment to the 360 and in the eyes of long term psclients - no retail style bought now's backwards compatable. i in my view became going to purchase one yet, replaced my techniques when I found out that it couldnt replace my PS2. Blu-Ray - i in my view dont care approximately that. i've got considered too many emergent technologies fail after being set as much as dominate the industry to take a place too lots attention into making an investment in it purposefully. M$ dominates the console industry. there is no question approximately it. basically comparing the video games for 360 and PS3, PS3 grants no longer something unique and proprietary it is definitely particularly good. To make the assessment, in the 5th era console industry, the 360 is largely on a advertising and marketing par with the place the unique playstation became in the third era industry - besides the reality that it is an inferior device, the accepted of the applying leads it to industry dominance. ** Yeah, basically flow to a interest internet site and get this for your self **2 "Will PS3 get..." - it is going to unavoidably get new video games, some may be greater suitable, some may be worse. *** in 2009, 360 is set to lead with an entire series of recent shooters and RPG's that are slated to hit the industry as 360 unique titles. * "Will 360 make..." somewhat.

Does nobody pay attention around here? I constantly see xbox haters quoting a 30% failure rate. They are completely ignoring the fact (especially with this question) that the new falcon systems should have significantly lower failure rates.

they wont stop
the 360 is the best game system on the market in my opoinion
they are coming up with new software
(falcon system)
for the failure rate
the falcon is on newer manufactured systems
and is much quieter
and does not fail as much
but personally i have had my 360 for year and never going back to the sony or nintendo systems ever again

LOL that made my day. They are second in the console war, and they are not going to just say, Screw this, and just quit. There needs to be like something HUGE for that to happen.

If you advertise something long enough - you'll be able to sell the sand in the desert. Same thing with Microspot. Lousy goods, but good ads. Software company tries to make hardware products. What next - Coca-cola will make cars?
