If so, can you bring in Thomas Edison, please. I'd love to hear his take on the phasing out of the incandescent light bulb.

Are you for or against it and why?

Tom Edison, being an inventor, would not be so egoistical to believe that his invention was the last in the line of advancements in the field of lighting and energy. I am sure he would be interested in knowing how his invention has been advanced through the ages. It is a compliment to have your invention improved upon.

Since blindness is in my future, I doubt it will matter as time goes by! I'd just be happy to get some decent street lights back on the sidewalks again! Thomas Edison probably is laughing at all of us anyway!

From the consumer's end it is hard to argue with longer life on the light bulb and lower energy costs. I haven't looked into the quality of light, although I don't notice a difference at home, or the energy cost of producing the bulbs or problems with disposing of them when they do burn out. Good question!

LOve them, they cost a little more, but last longer. The one I have in my lite by the sofa, really does brighten up the room more. I really notice the differance when I am reading. I do think they look funny over the bathroom vanity, and in the fan light, so I have not tried them there. But my son does have a new house with recessed ceiling lighting in the kitchen and you don't really notice any differance.

I'm against it. I would have to replace many fixtures in my home and the light from the new bulbs just isn't that good. I do use the new bulbs in many places in my home, but not where I need really good lighting.

No spirits here and we gave up the alcohol too. LOL have not tried the new light bulbs yet. Heard too much about them and it was all negative so far.

I don't channel spirits, but they come to me in my dreams to have a wee chat now and again. They all look good and a lot youngers than their years, one thing about them is they are no longer in any kind of pain, and seem happy.

I'm for anything that saves energy. I think Old Thom would be for anything that was an advancement.
