Lakeland have preserving jars on sale, starting at 3.99 for a single jar, or 10.99 for a set of 6.

They also have stores throughout the uk - there may be one near you if you'd rather not shop online.

I'm also in the UK (and so are the suppliers below!) :-)

If you want a good mail-order supplier, Ascotts is lovely (see below for the link to preserving jars on their website) -- they supply farmers and smallholders who make their own produce for markets etc.

For real shops as well as mail-order: Lakeland has a good range, including some with a cute chalkboard-style label (weblink to page is below).

Lastly, if you want to buy in bulk, Freeman & Harding are where I buy my honey jars from, and they also do preserving jars -- Kilner types and also very posh 'retail' pickle jars. Weblink below.

Here in the US you can get them online or in many supermarkets.

The most common brand in the US are Ball Mason jars.

You might try a websearch for the UK using that brand name or just "canning jars"

They are called "canning jars", and besides online, I would check your area for kitchen supply stores, or restaurant supply stores open to the public.

Colouredbottles.co.uk have lots of different kind of jars, mostly for 40p-£1.50 each.

I would recommend them.
