Why is it that people want natural fibres for clothing, buy green for almost everything to save the environment, use herbal remedies and buy food that is grown under natural conditions and no additives to food.We want everything natural but human beings. We are not allowed to grow older never mind grow old gracefully. We colour our hair, wear makeup, get tummy tucks, chin lifts etc.Who sets this artificial standard for "beauty" .How can we even think of anyone just being themself when surgery can make them someone else. LOL

Yeah I think it's crazy how many people have plastic surgery. I wonder in like 50 years if there's going to be any REAL person left. Soon everyone is going to look like a superstar. It's going to get really cheap as more and more people do it. I don't think people consider it a surgery anymore. It's like a hobby now.

As long as people judge each others abilities as lovers, powerful/useful people, and ultimately humans by how proportionately "human" they look, there will always be the danger of un-naturally altering appearances and medical defects from bad surgeries (the main reason why I've never messed with it).
Everyone seems to want fibbonacci (sp.) ratios between their lips and chin width, shoulder and waist, etc. ..to get a figure that's more aggressive and confident. I read up the divine ratios of beauty on mp3tv ages ago and it still makes sense.
Personally I've even thought about doing it once a long time ago...due to being sick and tired of watching people with stronger IE in high school watching some idiot in exactly the same shape I was (IE Bruce Lee-ish, not huge but not weak) randomly pick up women while I ended up with one girl I liked around who said she hangs around me b/c that guy is boring and actually less athletic than myself yet she admits he "looks more movie star-ish" despite having the exact same physique. Yeah...it gets frustrating, I've thought about enlarging my chin and trimming my nose a bit, just so when people see the shape of my face they know I mean business.
Now that I'm older, though, I realize most of the people who really matter will stick around and learn my true strength regardless of how strong my jawline is and don't worry about it much anymore.
If we stopped prejudging people's abilities to be exciting by looks we wouldn't have so many people dying to get plastic surgery just to be "socially polite/acceptable"...it's sad, really.
Meanwhile, plastic surgery or a "mini facelift" makes more sense than, say, buying tons of fancy clothes,cars...to impress people, at least it is scientifically proven to have an effect.

I think a little. I hate that people feel badly enough about themselves that they feel that they must. However, having said that, I have had three kids and would love a little tummy tuck myself.
I know two people who insisted on plastic surgery and they don't look any better. I've seen others who's attitude and life were forever changed for the better.

I don't know, it seems to be the norm these days. I've had quite a few things done and I'm only 26. That said I have good reasons in that I look older than my age and just want to feel like I do inside. I don't feel I'm being shallow, it's more a case of just wanting to feel normal.

I totally agree!
What people do not realize is plastic surgery requires maintenance, if it does not get it you will look like a freak....
Even if you do maintain it, in 15-20 years you will look like a wax figure!

YEAH. It's Surgery and any surgery has its risks. Look at what happened to Kanye West's mother--she's dead! My uncle died after having his stomach tied. AND if you have any doubts, look at Michael Jackson!!
