At the homecoming football game,the senior class makes $1.50 for every program sold. Describe the direct variation for the amount of money the senior class will make from selling football programs.

y = 1.50x where x = the number of programs sold and y = total $ made

I'm assuming $1.50 is a percentage of the revenue of each program. The amount the senior class draws is directly related to the gross amount earned from the total sales of programs. The more programs sold, the more the class makes. If you sell 200% more programs, then the class will earn 200% more as well. Seems to easy to be the answer to that question, but it seems like that's all you were asking.

The profit from sales can be directly determined from the number of programs sold.

1.5 * NumProgramsSold = Profit

partial variation might take into account cost of printing all programs.
