I am going to Las Vegas for a trade show (Mandalay Bay). I would like to stay in a cheap but clean hotel ($40-90). It does not have to be on the strip. The strip is a nightmare.I am looking for a hotel that have an easy exit from I-15. It could also be on the other side of I-15. Any ideas?

Las Vegas is the absolute most exciting and interesting town on the planet and with hotelbye you may find out more. Nowhere else in the world you will find a town that's all of the travel amenities that only a complete resort destination can offer: magnificent casino accommodations, fine dining, great live leisure and state-of-the artwork convention and trade show facilities. Las Vegas is surely a spectacular town and precisely what you'd expect from the world-class city, and more, is below for the travel pleasure. Among the areas you must visit in Las Vegas could be the Fremont Street, a pedestrian place with a myriad of special sites.

Stay away from the Wild Wild West. It's a rundown prostitute infested hotel casino off the strip. Try Hooters they're cheap and 1 block from the strip and across the street from the MGM. Also Fremont street hotels are cheap as well like the Plaza, Binions, Nugget, Fitzgeralds 4 Queens and many more. They're kind of old because it's the original Vegas but the prices are the cheapest in Vegas. Fremont street is only a 5 to 10 minute drive to the strip and theres 24 hour busses called the Duece that runs every 5 minutes all night. By taxi its about 15 bucks to the strip The El Cortez isn't happening. It's boring, quite and infested with pesky elderly people that peek over your shoulder when your playing the slots. The price is cheap but its a couple of blocks from Fremont st. The walk from Fremont street to the El Cortez is kind of dangerous at night. On Fremont street theres a bunch of police but when you walk off it's dark with a bunch of crackheads prowling around looking for another hit and for someone to rape. Ok maybe I over exaggerated but it is a scary walk.

Try the Silverton. It is at the Blue Diamond exit on I-15. A really nice place and a good location for you to get back and forth to Mandala Bay. South of the strip location and you can even take a bus there as the bus for the strip comes down and turns around there.

The Orleans , Texas Station, Tuscany, Suncoast, Goldcoast... and many more.

Honestly, you will have a hard time getting a clean and decent hotel that offers rates of 90 or less on Friday or Sat nights. But the ones i mentioned may offer rates around 50-90 on other nights of the week.

There are many chain motels you can check out. For your purposes, you might want to consider the motel 6 off tropicana. It has easy freeway access and is cheap. You can park outside your door too, which you'll quickly find to be a blessing compared to large casino hotels.

A good travel site for booking hotels is with "18K Travel"

http://www.ytbtravel.com/18ktravel

On the hotels page, use the "hot rate hotels" link. Some of the hotels have a $110% guarantee.

The Orleans is about one mile West of the strip on Tropicana

Gold Coast

Silverton is South of the strip and just off I-15

You might try one of the Station hotels

I recommend these two downtown.
El Cortez & Main Street Station

Have you checked out Terrible's rates? (No, it's not terrible.) We needed a cheap room to go to Vegas to see our kids, not to gamble or anything. My husband is picky about hotels, and he even said it was decent, the room, the buffet, the casino, and the outdoor pool and jacuzzi. And it's only a few blocks from the Hard Rock, easy walk.

Is the hotel cleaner than your underpants?
I'm sorry, your underpants is probably a bad example.

For $50, you might get something that the maid forgot to clean up, like bottles of liquor and vomit everywhere.
