My own personal belief is that we are not alone...
There is one HECK of a lot of space out there, and to think that we may be all alone in the cosmos is not only disheartening, but arrogant, as well.

My guess is that billions of planets have moss and algae. A couple thousand may have advanced life, such as millipedes, fish, and clams. I used to be a great believer in the drake equation. I was in elementary school when the first SETI experiments were started. I was absolutely certain contact was just a matter of time. Perhaps weeks. Since then I've seen SETI get more and more advanced, scanning billions of frequencies, and the heavens are still silent. The Fermi Paradox suggests that if there are intelligent civilizations they should be here by now. Regardless of the wishes of the UFO fanatics, they are not. The Drake equation is incomplete. It leaves out a lot of elements that would further dramatically reduce the possibility for intelligent life. After all: the earth has been home to about 50 billion species in the period of its existence. We are the only intelligence. And this is on a great piece of real estate with a nice stable star and an asteroid strike occuring no more than once every 100 million years or so. The odds are, despite all our wishes and the huge number of stars, that we are the only intelligence in the Galaxy. And perhaps the universe. The odds against our existing are that high.

Alnoe? We Are Not Alnoe.

It's always funny to hear people say that if you think we ARE alone that you must be 'deranged' 'naive' 'conceited'... hey, guys... chill! We are most definitely , 100% ... ignorant of any life in the universe except us. We just don't know.

Well, there's you, and there's me- and about 4 billion others.

As far as the universe is concerned, the scriptures say that Christ created worlds without number. So there are lots of our brothers and sisters scattered across the universe.

I doubt it. It remains to be seen, however, how intelligent other life is. Anyway, any form of communication would probably take hundreds or thousands of years.

I don't believe we're alone.

But whether anyone of "us" will overcome the barrier of unimaginable cosmic distances to confirm this remains to be seen.
