We live in New York but visited Colorado couple of times, we fell in love of it's beauty. Here we have the same jobs for 5 + years so we are scared to leave it. We are in our early 30's, would like to have kids very soon. My husband takes home 1100/week as an audi technician which is Ok, but not enough for a house or a decent place here. (I make much less, but if We will have kids I will have to stay home ). We are scared to move since We dont know how is the job situations are there. Husband is very good at his job so he would be doing the same, work on luxury cars, but are there a lot of luxury cars in denver/Fort collins?? Any help would be great!! We are saving for a down payment and currently renting.

Denver has plenty of auto jobs, i work at a McQuires Lexus in Kingston which is right outside Denver, Theres always jobs posted, with the right experience you can make that out here also and housing is much cheaper, Good Luck!

I live in Denver and its one of the best place in the country. Over 300 days of sun a year. Its a high plains desert.

There's plenty of luxury cars in Denver. Boulder, Highlands Ranch, Cherry Creek, Lonetree are all prime luxury car locations. There are many many more.

At 60k a year you should be able to live nicely. Many are living on less and more. You won't have the biggest house or the smallest.

Good for you for actually putting a plan together! You're already ahead of most people.

I would suggest taking a trip together to Colorado very soon and spend the time while there applying to the places where your husband might work. Maybe you can even get an interview.

Remember that if your trip is for the purpose of looking for work, your travel and lodging expenses are deductible on your income taxes.

Good luck!

Check the job listings in CraigsList Denver, Boulder and Ft Collins. You can also check for rental costs and compare them to the cost of living where you live now.

Call Audi or foreign car dealerships in Denver and ask if they have job openings for mechanics.
