I have a replacement lamp but I cannot figure out how to get access to replace it. On my cars there is usually easy access via the trunk. How is it done on this van?

Open the tailgate. on the side of the taillamp housing you'll see two plastic tabs that are about 1/3rd of the way from the top and the bottom. Those tabs lift up to reveal two screws that hold the taillamp to the car body.

remove the two screws then you'll have to wiggle and pull on the taillight housing to release the two outer dowels that hold the outside of the lens into the quarter panel. It will feel like it won't come out but it does. If you need to, wrap a flat screwdriver tip in a cloth and insert it between the front portion of the housing and the car body and gently pry or push the lens rearward to release the dowels.

the bulb will be accessible from the back of the housing once you slide the housing out. when you put the housing back make sure to align the dowels with the receiver and push it back in until it 'locks' in the receiver.
hope that answers your question
