obviously not EVERY single male...but a large portion. i'm just wondering because i'm very strong willed and i think somtimes men are annoyed by this. i get this underlying tone that some men feel women should back down and trust that the man knows best. do you think men feel threatened by women with strong opinions?

wow...yahoo answers is just no longer friendly. you ask a question requesting simple informitive opinions, and you get pelted with insults based on false assupmptions about my personality. i have qualities that i'm not 100% proud of, the fact that i don't let others govern my thoughts is not one of those bad qualites. based on your defensive answers that all appear to be from guys...i see you HAVE answerd my questions. and yes...i'm aware that this can be true of ALL people.

Many men are threatened by women with strong opinions, but at the same time they wouldn't go back to the time when women didn't work and men financially supported them so they put up with the opinionated women as long as they pay their share of bills.

It all depends on what the women in the man's life taught him. Really ... the strongest influence in every life is the mother. The first five years of our lives are the most formative. What did the women in the kids life teach him? As for some men avoiding this? Well all I can say is that we two sexes have a different list of priorities. We men put the relationships at #4 on our list, whereas the women always see relationships as the #1 priority. Freely expressing your feelings to a man is mushy! You know like a seven year old boy would be horrified if a girl kissed him? That kind of mushy and yucky. We don't like it. Opinions of a woman? Well these days they seem to be warped for the most part and a man doesn't know where the hell he would stand in a room of women. The equality issue mixed with the respect issue along with the treat me like a lady demand is a very confusing social scene to us boys. We don't know how to react so it's kind of like a " fight or flight" situation here. Usually the good guys beat a hasty retreat to the boys club for a scotch and cigar. It's the ones that are really afraid and hateful that will get up on his hind feet and strike back at some misinterpreted opinion. The wise men keep their mouths shut and just walk away from it.

I like women with Strong opinions. Conversation can lead to a great relationship. On the other hand a weak woman just seems that,weak. Bossy women end up alone. So remember that, yes,some men may find you overbearing, but that could be just a lack of self-esteem and they are threatened, but a strong man,needs a strong woman to handle him gently.

I find women with strong opinions very sexy. I also find women with self confidence very sexy. To me, a strong woman is the ultimate turn-on. BUT! there is a difference between being strong opinioned and just plain old bitchy.
Strong = Sexy
Bitchy= Get me the hell away from here.

I agree with the first post it has nothing to with being a man or woman, because usually people with relly stron opinions put down other people opinions and disregard everyone else. it is your ability to compremise that make a great person and a successful one..

It's not just men, MOST people feel threatened, or at the very least irritated, by someone with strong opinions.

It's possible that you're just ignorant and it has nothing to do with your gender. Strong opinions + ignorance = annoying.
