Doesn't that stop the egg from dropping into your uterus? If it's doing it's job and you feel like you are pregnant, you might have a tubal pregnancy! GO TO YOUR DOCTOR right away and have him check. On the other hand, the hormones in it might be too strong for you and it's giving you pregnancy symptoms. Either way, check with your doctor.

I am currently having the same scare. I went to a christian pregnancy dr. office, and they said that I could be having a miscarriage. I had 2 possitive pregnancy tests at home, and then I went there to get another and they said that it was negative. They also explained to me how the iud is an aborting birth control. It will allow your body to form an embryo, but after the embryo is formed it won't have anywhere in the body to go because the uterine wall will not let it attach due to the lining being so thin from the hormones. But in other forms of birth controls, the hormones don't let an egg be released which is not the case with the iud. So there is a possibility. Hope this helps. I am getting my IUD out due to me not doing enough research to see this before i got it in.

Well chances are against it, but it is possible. I know that with some IUD's they ask you to wait between 1 to 3 months before having unprotected sex to make sure that they are working properly. If these symptoms are new then that's probably not your problem. You could just have a little bit of the flu. It's going around pretty heavy right now and would cause you similar discomfort. I'd take and hpt and go see your doctor. Good luck!

I have had my IUD for almost 2years now and I get pregnancy symptoms all the time right around time for my to get my period. My md said I still ovulate so I will still get period symptoms. I even was leaking milk! That is what threw me. I have been torn on whether getting it removed is the best choice for me. I dont have to worry about taking a pill or getting a shot or a patch but I do have so problems with the Mirena. Ruling all pros and cons I chose to keep the IUD for now. I want to remove it in June since we want to start trying then for another baby so I decided at this time keeping just made sense for me. Some more of my symtoms are headaches, cramping, bladder control issues, appetite, acne, decrease in sexual drive, dizzy spells, and yeast infections. They started out not so bad but have gotten worse over time. I hope this information helps you.

they are not 100% against preventing, so there is a slight chance that you could be, and usually these pregnancies cant go on b/c the fertilized egg cannot implant in the uterus, so you need to go see a Dr to make sure, and to prevent you from having complications.

nothing is 100% effective in preventing pregnancy. You should take a test if you are concerned.
good luck and everything will work out the way it is supposed to.
