My friend was arrested for robbery, but recently was NOT indicted... what does that mean?? Does it mean he will have a shorter sentence? Confused- thanks so much for ur help.

Not indicted means the grand jury found insufficient evidence to "charge" him with the crime. The DA can continue the investigation and go back if s/he comes up with more evidence, but for now your friend is off the hook.

it means no trail but they'll ie the police be watching him, they were unable to prove the charges so there will be no case.

Tell that person to straighten up usually the police will only arrest you if they are sure.

means there is insufficient evidence to convict him...looks like he'll get off
