i think that the best bond is obviously Sean Connery, but with Casino Royale i think that Daniel Craig did a MUCH better job of portraying bond as he was meant to be than pierce brosman did in die another day. My friend and i have this argument every time we watch a bond movie. He thinks that Brosman is better because he has cool gadgets. True, in Casino Royale Craig doesn't have any real Bond worth gadgets, or even Q for that matter, but he uses his smarts to get himself out of sticky situations instead of a high tech laser to just cut some no named guard's head off. I think that this is more in the spirit of the movies. I just want to know what other bond fans think of the difference between these two movies/actors.

I prefer Pierce Brosnan to Daniel Craig. I think if you're going to compare the two, you need to be on the same playing level. Brosnan did several films; Craig has only done one. You can't compare Craig's only film to what is obviously the worst Brosnan one.
Besides, Casino Royale was an early version of Bond (first book, movie takes place before all of the other films) ... and again it's not really easy to compare because, of course Brosnan's Bond would have better gadgets than Craig because it takes place later in time.
I just think Brosnan is sexier than Craig anyway - and a better actor to boot.

I am a huge James Bond fan, and first off I have to agree, no one compares to Sean Connery. As far as Daniel Craig, I thought he did a good job in his first bond appearance, but I think it is to early to tell if he is better then Pierce. I m looking forward to Daniel Craig's next Bond movie.

I have not seen Daniel Craig's or Lazemby's movies. For me Sean Connery is the best 007, followed by Pierce, Roger Moore and last Timothy Dalton.

Sean Connery = #1 Bond... no one could top him.
BUT as far as second best goes, my vote goes to Daniel Craig. He was much more of a Bond guy to me, whereas Brosnan just seems like a pretty boy... and a touch annoying. Don't get me wrong, I've liked Pierce Brosnan in other roles, but he doesn't say secret agent to me... he says "pimp with cool gadgets"... not a Bond at all.

i 'm not a die hard bond fan(sorry) but i have seen most of the movies,come to think of casino royale is the only one i haven't seen, anyway i agree that mr. sean connery was by far the best and suave of all of the bonds. w/roger moore a close second. i was around during the moore years but hey even as an old guy connery is still sexy and that accent come on.

daniel craig is my favourite bond i didn't like any of the other bond movies much but when i saw casino royale i absolutely loved it. out of the old guys i would say sean connery comse a close second to daniel craig :)

I liked George Lazenby who was offered a seven picture deal to do Bond after he did 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service'
but his manager told him to turn it down as Bond was going out of fashion.
