My wifes sex drive went to nil after kids. After the first she was eventually diagnosed with post pardum. She has never really gotten the drive back. She feels better, but is just rarely in the mood. Our youngest is 3, she is usually not in the mood for much of anything by the time I get home from work, so I take over the kid duties. Sometimes that helps, usually doesn't seem to do anything. The rigors of being a mommy are just too much some days, but some day they will be older and hopefully things will be better.

Mine didn't. but after kid #2 the wife's did. This didn;t happen with the first child, so it was a BIG shock (to both of us, but to me especially).

It has been a long hard road back just to get to something that even resembles what we had (did) prior to kids.

I think this is a very common issue. Its not just about the exhaustion of raising kids either. Some of it is the "mother" vs "lover / vixin" syndrome and maybe some women's sex drive prior to kids was driven by the NEED / WANT to have children.

Once they have them, their body sub-conciously says, "OK - you've got the kids - you don't need to have sex anymore." Even if prior to children they found sex to be a very enjoyable act.

I don't have all the answers, but I've read enough on here and lived through enough in the past year to KNOW that something changes in SOME women. Some guy's have issues too, they can't see their wife as a sexual being because they only see her as a mother now....

All I know is those hormones are some wacky, freaky chemicals you gals got swimming around in ya :)

No neither of out sex drive went down after having kids. The first one was not so bad as we still could find time for each other but after the second it seemed our time was stretched this and it was just hard to find time to be romantic. I think its important to have a date night were you are just with your spouse, no kids, no bills just be together. Also try and find little ways to be romantic, love letters and little gifts and surprises go a long way! Good luck!

I have 2 kids and I think my sex drive has gone down, but it may be because I'm tired at the end of the day with work and kids and house. However my husband's sex drive went up up up.

Yes mine did. I have 2 boys ages 7 and 5 years, they were born only 18 months apart. So I don't have energy for anything extra. I still don't have a large sex drive, but I think between the husband, kids, dog, house, kids friends, and everything else that I do it's no wonder that I don't want it as much as my husband.

I have a two year old daughter and yes, my sex drive did go down. But it's normal! I think it's just because I lack the energy I used to chasing after a short person :p

my sex drive stayed the same (i have a very high sex drive) and my wife's, after having our child, has stayed the same (she too enjoys a high sex drive). The only problem now is that we have to have our fun when our son is asleep or out of the house (with his grandparents.)
so to answer your question to the fullest, our sex drives have stayed the same, but the opportunities to have sex have gone down some.

No I have two kids and my husband and I still have a high sex drive. Sometimes I think mine is higher then my husbands. But he works more then me so he is tired more often then I am.

It did, but I dont think that it was due to the kids. I think that I am not attracted to my hubby any more after having kids. I dont now why, but it is making life really miserable for me right now. He is the same man he was when we got married, I just dont seemed to be intrested in him anymore and I dont want him to touch me....
