I mean if you eat meat/wear leather, is it not hypocritical to say you wouldn't? you could argue its a waste of an animal's life and is not necessary- but isn't killing it for meat the same?

If Yes, Why?
If No, Why?

I have a big wardrobe of fur coats that were my great grandmothers. I'm not allowed to wear them yet because I'm 14, but eventually they will be passed down to me. They've been in the family for a long time so I would wear them. But I would never buy a new one.

I believe it is legitimate to eat meat and therefore kill animals for that reason. It is only laziness and the lack of choice that makes us continue to wear leather as much as we do.

there is less excuse to wear fur than either of the above. Fake fur is all but indistinguishable from the real thing.

If I could be a vegan and not have to think about it all the time, I might well try it...but I have other things to worry about frankly.

Fur being the thick, soft, fine hair of certain animals, and me being an animal with soft fine hair, yes I will continue to wear my own fur, because it grows on me, and I like the way it looks.
I wouldn't wear the fur of any other animal, because the animals fur is obtained from animals which are often used for nothing else, and because their fur doesn't look nearly as good on me as it would on the animal it came from, plus I hate the way animals are kept in captivity for human needs or wants.

I wouldn't wear real fur and fake fur looks stupid. So i wouldn't wear any fur, lol.

Well, I'm a Christian, and God gave us the right to kill animals for food, so i don't think that it's that bad myself, but that is just me.

It's hard to escape leather, it's everywhere, but I think that if all the animal's flesh is not being put to good use, why kill in the first place?

That's my opinion.

I would not wear animal fur, just as I would not eat meat or wear leather. I hate those hypocrites who wont wear fur and go on and on about it, whilst they're satisfying themselves with other living beings (eating animals). Those people sicken me! Oh well done... you've made me all fired up now! Hehe.
Good question, Princess Lola x

No I would not. I am a vegetarian. And even before I was, I thought it to be barbaric. Because the meat isn't used when they slaughter for fur, unlike leather.
With some animals, they skin them alive, so that they don't make a hole in the fur where they would have been shot.
I think it is absolutely disgusting.
It is not like we live in an age where we have no alternative clothing.
Anyone who wears fur is a disgrace and should be absolutely ashamed of themselves.

no, because the fur trade is disgusting, and I'm not being hypocritical because I'm vegan so don't eat meat or wear leather anyway, plus the fur looks much better on the animal.

somehow, wearing real fur is different to wearing leather shoes or eating meat. i think it's because animals are raised for meat, are killed, and the skins used to make shoes or whatever rather than waste them. but it seems that those who are killed for fur are done so in an uncontrolled and often cruel manner.

It can take 40 skinned animals to make one fur coat. I would never want to be responsible for that, just so that I can wear a load of dead animals on my back. And animals that are used for their fur are entirely different species to those used for food. They are bred or trapped, skinned and killed for their fur, and their flesh is discarded.

I also think that fur coats and stoles just look so ugly and trashy on humans. Far from looking classy they just look tacky and cheap.

No just because it's not my thing.
I think it's sad that animals get skinned for rich people to wear fur, and I only think fur coats should be a necessity, not a luxury. Because that's why God put those furry animals on Earth. For COLD people to warm themselves.
