Well, I already explain it in the question. I used quite well the custom content and I even could make some on my own. But when I installed the Pets, they just disappeared. My custom content is still threre, but the other is gone. I checked the Downloads folder in My Documents/EA GAMES/The Sims 2/Downloads and they were all still there but this makes the whole thing even stranger. Please help me. And don't try to be funny or something by giving an answer like: "I don't know. Just give me the 10 points" It's lame.

Load the game and go to your options menu. Enable the 'custom content' screen. Restart. When the game loads this time, you'll see a message asking you if you want to enable custom content. Click 'enable'. It should appear after that.
If not, check for patches. Download the most recent CEP, if you use it.

When you add an ep or stuff pack to your game, it automatically disables custom content. Under game options, just click custom content broser and enable. Quit and reenter the game, it should be right there.
