I called them back and they said that my number was not in their database. Should I be worried about this?

I DID CALL BACK FROM THE SAME PHONE THAT THEY CALLED.

They are a collection agency.
Do you owe anybody any money?
When you called back did you use the same phone number they called you on?
Trust me, if they think you are a match for someone on their database, they *will* call again.
(When you say they didn't leave you a message, I assume you the number was captured by caller ID.)

chances are they misdialed your number by mistake == do not worry about it!!!
